A £4 Boots vitamin C brightening moisturising cream has received rave reviews from shoppers, and I managed to get my hands on it.

The cream is designed to nourish skin with added vitamin C and YUZU extract, suitable for all skin types. All you need to do is smooth it onto your face and neck after cleansing and applying serum. I’d seen plenty of reviews on social media and the Boots website about this cream, with many shoppers labelling the product as ‘the best cream ever.’ It also comes in a bundle for £12 which includes a cleansing gel, overnight mask and eye gel.

Vitamin C is said to be a ‘dermatologist-favourite’ ingredient that may help slow early skin ageing, prevent sun damage and improve the appearance of wrinkles. For £4, the cream was an absolute bargain as part of the Boots own brand range.

The cream

The first thing I noticed about the cream was the scent, it smelt absolutely amazing. If I had to describe the scent I’d say zesty, which matched the bright colour of the tub perfectly.

It was really thick in consistency and rubbed nicely onto my skin, it didn’t feel sticky or uncomfortable. The one thing that really stood out to me was the tingle it left on my face, it was so refreshing.

Sometimes creams can be described as ‘refreshing’ but often sting, but this cream was really nice, especially first thing in the morning. I found it dried really quickly, which was a bonus before going to bed at night.

After just one use of the cream, my skin felt a lot smoother. I’ve been using the cream for almost a week now and it already appears brighter and more radiant. With the moisturiser, a little really does go a long way, and I have a feeling that this 50ml tub is going to last me a fair amount of time. I was seriously impressed with this product, and for the price, it’s an absolute bargain.

The verdict

I was pleasantly surprised with how good this cream was, and it definitely lives up to the hype. This is the cheapest moisturiser I’ve ever purchased, and most definitely the most effective. It wasn’t just the outcome of the cream, but the general experience of applying the cream too. It smelt amazing and felt so pampering on my skin. I’ll be giving this product a 5/5 and will continue to use the Boots vitamin C products as part of my skincare routine. As someone who’s admittedly a little lazy when it comes to skincare, this product makes it quick and easy.
